In writing this novel, it was at times unnerving how many story elements would pop up in the news. It happened so frequently that I started keeping a folder. Later, after the manuscript was complete, I took the folder and used selected stories and put them in a clickable list (eBook) at the back of the book.
Since publication, the 'Life Imitates Art' stories continue to pop-up. New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd hit a nerve when she wrote an Opinion piece that stated that the removal of President Biden from the top of the Democratic Presidential ticket was a coup. The book touchpoint from her Opinion piece is the fact that Vice-President Kamala Harris was 'coronated' with zero feedback from the American Electorate OR the Biden Delegates elected to attend the Democratic National Convention in Chicago (which opened yesterday). What should have happened (in the spirit of the Constitution), is an open convention where nominations from the floor to replace Biden would have been allowed. Instead, ALL the votes for Biden were essentially tossed out. https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/world/us/maureen-dowd-gets-hate-for-calling-biden-to-kamala-shift-a-coup/articleshow/112609976.cms
